Function and architecture:

TRICON system usually includes three main processor modules (MP), each of which runs independently and does not share clocks, power supplies or circuits. Each MP module is responsible for one of the three signal processing legs of the control system.

Each MP module consists of two 32-bit processors: one is dedicated to I/O communication (IOC), and the other is responsible for executing control programs and system diagnosis.

The MP module communicates with other MP modules through a high-speed dedicated bus (TriBus) to ensure the functions of data synchronization and event sequence recording (SOE).

Hardware specifications:

TRICONEX 3009X main processor module adopts Motorola MPC860 microprocessor, and the main frequency is 50 MHz.

Each MP module is equipped with 16 MB DRAM (non-battery backup) and 32 KB SRAM (battery backup) for storing control programs and diagnostic data written by users.

The module also contains 6 MB Flash PROM for storing the operating system and firmware.

Diagnosis and redundancy:
