Functions and features:

The AO module receives the output signal from the main processor module, and selects a healthy channel to drive eight 4-20 mA output signals through the voting mechanism.

Each channel has an internal voltage reference for self-calibration and monitoring module health.

The module supports over-range protection (+6%) and activates the LOAD indicator (load) when an open circuit or over-range is detected.

The module has redundant power supply design, provides independent fuses and power indicator lights (PWR1 and PWR2), and needs external loop power supply.

Working principle:

AO module receives signals from three main processor modules, and selects a healthy channel for signal output through voting mechanism.

If the module cannot drive one or more outputs, the LOAD indicator light (load) will be activated.

Diagnosis and troubleshooting:

The module supports continuous on-line diagnosis, and the FAULT of any channel will trigger the fault indicator and chassis alarm light.

The fault indicator only reports channel faults, not module faults. The module can continue to run under the condition that at most two channels fail.

Installation and maintenance:

AO module needs external terminal panel (ETP) and TRICON backplane connection with cable interface.

The module is installed in TRICON chassis by mechanical bonding.
