GE input isolator board DS3800HIOA has a hole at each corner for mounting the board with screws inside the driver. GE input isolator board DS3800HIOA is also equipped with a microprocessor and several erasable programmable read-only (EPROM) modules. The board has a 34-pin connector that can be accessed from the front of the board. It also installed test points and a 40-pin connector on the surface of the circuit board.

Erasable programmable read-only (EPROM) modules are plugged into sockets embedded in the board. If you have replaced the boards in the drive, you can take them out of the slot. If firmware and code are updated with newer versions, they can also be deleted. Usually, the code is not updated, because once the board is installed and it successfully receives command signals and processing signals, the site continues to use the same version of programming code and firmware. However, if the board is replaced, the module will be removed. If the circuit board is defective, it can be replaced.

The replacement board was shipped without an EPROM module, so the maintenance personnel must remove the module from the defective board and install it on a new board. Find a short end of the module socket and insert a screwdriver between the socket and the module. Turn the screwdriver to loosen one end of the module. Repeat the above operation at the other end of the socket and put the module into the electrostatic protection bag.
