The IS200ERRRG A Exciter Regulator Redundant Relay (ERRR) board, the IS200ERDDG A Exciter Regulator Dynamic Discharge (ERDD) board, and the dc source and field are all interfaced by the ERSC. It offers connections for field discharge and dc/dc static power converter operations. 

The board is divided into the ERSCG1 and ERSCG2 groups. Only simplex applications employ ERSCG1. Although simplex applications can also use ERSCG2, redundant applications must. Either rectified ac, dc from a station battery, or both types of electricity are used as input. A maximum output of 250 V dc at 35 A dc continuous and 250 V dc at 52.5 A dc for 10 seconds is possible. With two full regulator systems coupled to a single field, functionality is offered to operate in a simplex system or in a redundancy system. An insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) module installed on the board handles all static power switching (apart from field discharge for redundant switchover). 

The dc link charging resistor can be bypassed with a relay (K3). When switching from the main to the redundant regulator, ERSCG2 includes a separate channel for latched field discharge. ERSC APPLICATION DATA: The dimensions of the ERSC are roughly 4 inches broad by 6 inches high. Twelve soldered gates lead connections and four bolted power connectors secure the IGBT module to the ERSC. Four mounting screws hold the IGBT module to a vertical heat sink. The ERSC handles connections with ERRR, ERDD, and the dc source and field.EXCITATION

About IS200ERSCG1A

IS200ERSCG1A is a static converter of excitation regulator. The main function of this board is to provide pulse width modulation (PWM) DC output for regulator control. Another feature of this regulator is to provide field discharge, which is completed by one of the six IGBT inverter modules. The IGBTs on the module is used for various other functions, one of which is to discharge the DC-connected capacitor to an external resistor.

When the board is powered, it usually uses a rectified DC or AC power supply, or it can also be used when both power supply currents are provided. When two different applications are used, the board can be used for redundant or simplex applications. IS200ERSCG1A will be used for different board interfaces.

The best manual for the IS200ERSCG1A model is the GEI-100488 manual, which is no longer widely available, but information about the whole EX2100 series can be found in the GEH-6632 EX2100 excitation control user's guide. This model is no longer widely used because General Electric Company no longer produces it.
