Shinkawa LCU-37 Local Control Unit is a machinery protection and condition monitoring module engineered by Shinkawa Electric. Designed for integration into Shinkawa's VM series vibration monitoring systems, the LCU-37 receives, conditions, and processes analog signals from non-contact eddy-current proximity probes, velocity transducers, and accelerometers. It acts as a dedicated monitoring unit for continuous protection of critical rotating assets such as steam turbines, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, and heavy industrial pumps.

Installation Method

Power Down: Disconnect power from the main VM rack system before card insertion or removal.

Rack Alignment: Slide the LCU-37 module along the designated slot guides in the VM chassis until the rear multi-pin connector fully seats into the backplane.

Card Retention: Tighten top and bottom front-panel thumbscrews to lock the card against cabinet vibration.

Sensor Cabling: Route transducer wiring through dedicated shielded cable channels, grounding the cable shield braid at the rack chassis ground terminal only.
