The MSP30-16040SCZ999HHE2A serves as the core backplane unit for Hirschmann PowerMICE systems. Designed for fanless DIN-rail mounting, it allows industrial engineers to combine copper RJ45. optical fiber (SC/ST/LC), and Power over Ethernet (PoE+) modules into a single compact housing.

5. Installation and Maintenance

Installation

DIN-Rail Mounting: Clip the chassis onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail (dimensions: 313.8 mm × 147.2 mm × 141.75 mm). Ensure at least 10 cm of vertical clearance above and below for natural convection cooling (fanless chassis).

Grounding: Connect a protective earth (PE) cable to the grounding screw on the housing to meet EN 61000 EMC requirements.

Power Wiring: Connect redundant 24V DC power sources to terminal blocks V1 (+/-) and V2 (+/-).

Media Modules (MSM): Insert desired MSM media modules into open expansion slots and tighten thumb retaining screws.

Maintenance & Diagnostics

Configuration Backup: Insert a Hirschmann ACA21-USB or ACA31 (SD Card) auto-configuration adapter into the front USB slot. System configurations are saved automatically and restored instantly if a unit is swapped.

Software Updates: Upgrade HiOS firmware via HTTP/HTTPS web GUI, SFTP, or SCP.

STAT: Solid Green = Normal operation; Solid Red = Hardware fault.
