Certain ranges of FIP IDs are protected or reserved. The recommended range to be used for Applicative COMVs exchanged by a generic device at address xy is 0x00xy to 0x0Fxy. Outside this range, it is preferable to use identifiers in the range 0x81xy to 0x8Fxy. You can also change the number of produced and consumed application COMVs for each type of Generic Device. Generic devices are limited to 2000 COMV exchanges. Changes take effect on connection of the Generic Device to the network segment. They have no effect on the Generic Devices that are already connected
