Use this safe use instructions (SUI) document with theControlWave Micro Process Automation ControllerInstruction Manual (part D301392X012). For fullcautions and descriptions of installation andtroubleshooting procedures, refer to that manual.ControlWave Micro Special Conditions for Safe UseConnections made to RS-232 or RS-485communications ports shall be mechanicallysecured in place with suitable screw connectionsto prevent loosening or disconnection during use.

When using Ethernet connections, the RJ45(Ethernet) connection must have a matingconnector with a valid securing clip to preventloosening or disconnection during use.

 The USB connector on the IEC 62591 module shallnot be used unless the area is known to be nonhazardous (non-flammable).

 Install the ControlWave Micro within a suitablecertified tool-accessible ATEX or IECEx approveIP54 or better enclosure.

 The area in which the equipment is used should bea minimum of Pollution degree 2, as defined byIEC 60664-1 (that is, the environment should notcontain conductive pollution and theequipmentshall be installed in an indoor or shelteredlocation).

 The equipment may be used in zone 2 withflammable gases.

 The equipment may be used in the presence offlammable gases and vapors with apparatusgroups IIC or IIB or IIA and with temperatureclasses T1 or T2 or T3 or T4.

 The equipment is certified for use in ambienttemperatures in the range of —40C ≤ Tamb ≤ +70Cand should not be used outside this range.

 The equipment is to be installed by suitablytrained personnel in accordance with theapplicable code of practice (typically IEC EN60079-14).

 The equipment does not require assembly ordismantling.

 With regard to safety it is not necessary to checkfor correct operation.

 No user adjustment is required.

 Regular periodic inspection of the equipmentshould be performed by suitably trained personnelin accordance with the applicable code of practiceto ensure it is maintained in a satisfactorycondition.

 The equipment is not intended to be repaired bythe user. Repair of the equipment is to be carriedout by the manufacturer, or their approvedagents, in accordance with the applicable code ofpractice.

 The equipment contains no other customerreplaceable parts.

 Under certain extreme circumstances, the nonmetallic parts incorporated in the enclosure of thisequipment may generate an ignition-capable levelof electrostatic charge. Therefore, the equipmentshall only be cleaned with a damp cloth.

 If the equipment is likely to come into contactwith aggressive substances (such as acidic liquidsor gases that may attack metals or solvents thatmay affect polymeric materials), then it is the

responsibility of the user to take suitableprecautions that prevent the equipment frombeing adversely affected, thus ensuring that thetype of protection is not compromised.

 Provision shall be made to prevent the ratedvoltage from being exceeded by transientdisturbances of more than 140% of the ratedvoltage.

 Verbindungen mit denKommunikationsschnittstellen RS-232 oderRS-485 müssen mechanisch mit passendenSchraubverbindungen gesichert werden, umLockern oder Ablösen während des Betriebszverhindern.

 Bei der Verwendung von Ethernet-Verbindungenmuss der RJ45-Stecker (Ethernet) mit einemGegenstecker mit passender Sicherungsklemmeversehen sein, um Lockern bzw. Ablösen währenddes Betriebs zu verhindern.

 Der USB-Anschluss am IEC 62591-Modul darf nurdann verwendet werden, wenn der Arbeitsbereichnicht explosionsgefährdet (nicht entzündlich) ist.

 Den ControlWave Micro in einem passenden, mitWerkzeug zugänglichen Gehäuse mit ATEX- oderIECEx-Zulassung und Schutzart IP54 oder höherinstallieren.

 Der Bereich, in dem das Gerät verwendet wird,muss mindestens den Verschmutzungsgrad 2gemäß IEC 60664-1 haben (d. h. die Umgebungdarf keine leitfähige Verschmutzung enthaltenund dasGerät muss in einem Innenraum odergeschützten Ort installiert werden).

 Das Gerät kann in Zone 2 mit entzündlichen Gasenverwendet werden.
