Summary of characteristics of Foxboro DCS Triconex system access application driver for field device controller 280 (FDC280)
1. Product overview
Usage: TSAA (Triconex system access application) protocol is specially designed for security applications, so that Foxboro DCS can directly access the real-time data of Triconex security system.
Core component: Field Device Controller 280 (FDC280) realizes the integration of Foxboro DCS and Triconex SIS system, forming an integrated SIS system.
Communication mode: send commands through UDP/IP protocol, and Triconex controller returns response data.
2. Main functions
Triconex controllers supported:
Tricon 11.0 and above
Tricon CX 11.3 and above
Trident/Tri-GP 3.1 and above
Integration ability:
A single FDC280 supports up to 16 Triconex controllers.
A single Triconex controller can connect up to 8 FDC280 at the same time.
Data capacity:
A single device supports up to 8,000 Block Tags.
Using PAKIN and PAKOUT blocks can support more than 8,000 I/O connections.
Time synchronization: time synchronization is supported, and the accuracy can reach 25ms (with time pulse).
Multi-protocol support: support concurrent operation with Modbus TCP/RTU driver on the same FDC280.
3. Hardware and software requirements
Hardware:
The early version of FDC280 needs to update the main image to support TSAA driver.
Communication modules (such as TCM, UCM or CIM) need to be installed in Triconex controller.
Software compatibility:
Foxboro DCS controlcore software v9.3 and above.
Control Software v7.1.1 and above.
System Manager 2.13 and above (support for launching enhanced diagnostic monitor).
4. Diagnosis and monitoring
Enhanced diagnostic monitor:
You can start directly from System Manager to view the hardware, communication and application status of Triconex controller.
Support multi-instance startup (one instance per Triconex controller).
Diagnostic data: Diagnostic data is provided through the input block of DCI (Distributed Control Interface) to support the debugging of equipment interface problems.
5. Configuration and operation
Configuration tool:
Use CCS FDC280 Configurator to configure TSAA driver.
TriStation 1131 is used to configure Triconex controller (the project file can be imported into FDC280 configurator).
SOE (sequence of events) data:
Record to Alarms and Events database or AIM*Historian instance through TSAA Device Integration SOE Workstation Driver.
Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 operating systems are supported.
6. Performance and specifications
Performance:
Support full load Tricon CX controller (43,000 aliases, 200ms cycle time, 200ms update rate).
Supports two nearly full-load Tricon CX controllers (43,000 aliases, 200ms cycle time, 300ms update rate).
Supported DCI blocks:
Including BIN (binary input), BOUT (binary output), PAKIN (packed input), ROUT (real output) and so on.
Security certification: ISASecure™ certification (EDSA Level 1).
