ABB UNITROL1000 Series

The ABB UNITROL® 1000 product family covers a wide range of applications for voltage regulation tasks of a synchronous machines ranging from 100kVA to 80MVA which ensures stable control of synchronous generator or motor voltage, providing rapid response to load changes and maintaining required voltage levels, even in harsh environments.

The UNITROL 1000 series comprises three Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs) - UNITROL 1005, 1010, and 1020 - which can be easily integrated in combination with automation and electrical systems and advanced digital services.

UNITROL 1020

UNITROL 1020 is a voltage regulator intended for small and medium synchronous generators and industrial machines. It combines performance control and power circuits with a simple mechanical design and provides high performance in a wide range of temperature and vibration conditions.
With built-in dual channel support, advanced load sharing between machines operating in parallel, rotating diode monitoring, automatic synchronizing, and several integrated communication options, this automatic voltage regulator (AVR) is manufactured using the most advanced microprocessor technology and IGBT semiconductors, allowing current output up to 20 ADC for continuous operation.

UNITROL 1010

UNITROL 1010 is an indirect excitation system for small and medium synchronous generators and industrial machines. Its advanced microprocessor technology and IGBT semiconductors allow for current output up to 10 ADC for continuous operation.
With built-in dual channel support, advanced load sharing between machines operating in parallel, rotating diode monitoring, automatic synchronizing and several integrated communication options, UNITROL 1010 provides high performance in a wide range of temperature and vibration conditions.

UNITROL 1005

The UNITROL 1005 is the smallest of the family, designed for low-range excitation application with maximum excitation current up to 5 ADC. 
Like all UNITROL 1000 products, the UNITROL 1005 is based on the same target software source code and share the same simulation models that makes it very suitable for demanding grid code applications. Included in the package is CMT1000, the platform for focused and fast commissioning.

UNITROL 1000 Compact systems

The UNITROL 1000 Compact System is a pre-engineered excitation system, conveniently mounted on a backplate for easy installation and seamless integration with any generator control system. When space and speed are critical, this small, pre-packaged, and pre-tested system ensures successful project delivery. It comes standard with the UNITROL 1020 FULL, compliant with DNV Cyber Security Profile 1 (IACS UR E27), which is based on the industry standard IEC 62443-3-3 security level 1.

 As one of the smallest systems in its category, it is ideal for new installations or upgrade projects where space is limited. The system is available in single or dual channel configurations, with optional Power System Stabilizing (PSS) capabilities to ensure grid code compliance.

UNITROL 1000 FLEXPlus systems

The UNITROL 1000 FLEXplus System offers pre-engineered solutions designed for greater flexibility. It can be configured in single or dual channel setups and includes an I/O extension module to support more complex system integrations.

 For enhanced safety, the system can optionally be equipped with an earth fault relay and Power System Stabilizing (PSS) capabilities to ensure grid code compliance
