The generator board VGEN and its terminal board TGEN track the voltage and current of three phases of the generator, and calculate its power and power factor. 

VGEN uses a fast-acting solenoid located on the TRLY terminal board to perform power load imbalance (PLU) and early valve actuation (EVA) tasks for large steam turbine applications. To install the edge connection on the VGEN board, slide it in and push the top and bottom tie rods by hand. 

Next, tighten the self-retaining screws at the top and bottom of the front panel. These screws improve the integrity of the front grounding of the circuit board and are used to firmly fix the circuit board in place. Screws should not be used to fix circuit boards. JBOY3 connector in the lower part of VME rack is used to connect cables to TGEN terminal board. In order to fix the cable in place, this connector will lock. J4 connector on the lower part of VME rack is used to connect cables to optional TRLY terminal board. In order to fix the cable in place, this connector will lock. Open the VME rack and check the diagnostic light at the top of the front panel. VGEN monitors the operation of three single-phase CT inputs and two three-phase PT inputs. There are four analog inputs on TGEN, which can be set to 4-20 mA or 5, 10 or 20 V dc. VGEN board converts signals and calculates frequency, power and power factor. VGEN provides early valve drive (EVA) and power load imbalance (PLU) functions for large steam turbines, and monitors the three-phase power of generators. All three line-to-line voltages are calculated using three-wire, open triangle voltage measurements from generator and bus PT inputs. They are not used for automatic synchronization, which requires the use of two different single-phase PT inputs. PT is magnetically isolated, and the nominal voltage of each PT input is 115 V RMS. All PT and CT inputs have test points to realize field verification of phase. 

Three single-phase CT inputs are provided, and the standard continuous current range of each input is 0 to 5 A. On TGEN, CT is magnetically isolated. The terminal of CTs consists of a non-pluggable wiring board with tethered lugs, which can accommodate wires up to 10 AWG. These inputs are used to determine the following parameters: total Mwatts total Mvars total MVA power factor bus frequency (5 to 66 Hz) Four analog inputs can accept 4-20 mA or 5, 10 or 15 V DC inputs. All four circuits can be connected to the +24 V DC power supply, and each circuit has its own current limit. 

The +24 V DC power supply of the turbine controller or self-powered power supply can be connected to the 4-20 mA sensor. On the terminal board, jumpers allow you to choose between the current and voltage inputs of each circuit. IS200VGB Diagnostic VGEN Three LEDs at the top of the front panel display status data. In the field, you can modify the software restriction check. For voltage input, open circuit detection is provided, and relay driver and coil current are also tracked.
