DCS 600 Overload Capability To match a drive system as efficiently as possible with the driven machine’s load profile, the armature power converters DCS 600 can be dimensioned by me ans of the load cycle. Load cycles for driven machines have been defined in the IEC 146 or IEEE specifications. The currents for the DC I to DC IV types of load (see table 2.3/2) for the power converter modules are listed in the table below.
The overload capacity of DCS 600 is one of the important characteristics of ABB DCS 600 multi-drive system, and its design goal is to match the load demand of drive system and driven machine as efficiently as possible. according to
The armature power converter of DCS 600 can be sized according to the duty cycle, which has been defined in IEC 146 or IEEE specification.
Specifically, DCS 600 supports various load types (such as continuous load DC I Continuous), and can provide corresponding current output capacity according to different load cycles (such as DC I Continuous, DC I Continuous 10% load duration of 15 minutes, etc.).
The system also has overload tolerance, which can continuously output time exceeding the rated current or power under certain conditions, thus ensuring the reliability and stability of the system.
The design of DCS 600 conforms to many international standards (such as IEC 61805-1-2022), and is certified by CE, UL and C-Tick, which is suitable for long-term stable operation in industrial environment.
